His name is Aman, born in a village,
a child of a city.
Out of the second millennium he came,
maturing on a tiny planet, third sphere from a star,
so white and blue his homeland,
a glorious orb against a black sky of stars.
Aman married in a place called Hillcrest,
suburb of New York City,
In a land far to the west.
There he grew strong in body and mind,
tall and handsome, kind, generous and loving.
There he worked in a tower reaching skyward.
There he made a living for his growing family
till that day when everything changed.
As Aman hung up his phone,
in a roar and a flash the room where he sat was gone.
The gigantic colossus where he worked vanished
in a cloud of grime,
collapsed in a dreadful blast, a raging fire,
an incredible down flow.
breathtaking departure,
in the midst of an unbelievable calamity!
There he was, standing on a sidewalk
surveying all directions.
After brief visions of days long gone
he started walking toward a brilliant light.
As the fog parted he heard a voice,
Aman saw a man beckoning him,
A friendly voice, a kindly face.
Aman remembered his family with a stab of pain and loss.
Tears welled in his eyes as he stood there, confused.
“Come”, said the man in white.
Aman walked toward the man on the lawn.
Reaching him, he was caught in a warm loving embrace.
His sorrow began to fall away, replaced by peace.
He began to realize where he was.
Before he had time to think he found himself in a large room,
Beautiful beyond compare, lovely in every way.
Aman’s mind began to spin as he looked around.
People filled the room, standing, talking to one another.
Quickly one of the helpers brought him a chair.
Folks gathered around him, then came refreshments to all.
One after another they offered him a friendly welcome.
Jesus stood beside him, introducing him.
Aman, looking across the room saw his mother
as she was walking toward him, smiling,
with his father following just behind.
Then the three of them in a long close embrace.
With tears flowing from parents and son,
Aman, thrilled beyond belief!
