We are mortal, we are spirits,
gifted with links to our Father.
There is a golden chain of love
flowing from the Heavenly Courts.
The love we feel is a mixture,
divine and human,
his star dust sprinkled upon us.
Now and then we are drawn
to climb a spiritual mountain,
a journey to both the terrestrial and celestial,
moving to a place called adoration.
We have felt the creature pull of affection,
the waves of infatuation,
the deep call of our humanness,
a binding of souls in a utopia of bliss,
in God’s ever present love.
We are triumphant over the dreamless sleep.
Our mortality blends with a spirit within us,
a person destined to reach for the heavens,
children of creation, reaching for more than we are.
We grow: an infant, a child, a youth…
a figure sculptured by the Father,
won by His Son,
persons of faith and love,
with visions of God’s house.
Finally, a destiny in eternal realms.
We are spirits,
embraced by His presence and His love.
