A Tear

A tear is an irresistable thing,

reaching the soul.

Removing the sting of life’s dark days

Making them better in many ways.

A tear is water but very much more.

It softens the heart

and heals the sore that often will start

with thoughts so bitter, with words that smart.

A tear is salty and salt is good,

release to tension,

and weep we should when the way is hard,

when we want to hide and stay on guard.

So let them flow, it will lift the load.

It’s God who gives

to brighten your road,  He’ll help the day,

be kind to you amid the fray.
