New Diamond

A vision sealed with a ring,

A promise made in a park.

The diamond was quite small,

Presented in the dark!

It has lasted well,

This ring, it spoke of time,

Of years of precious joy.

We now mark 49!

So small it was,

Sufficient for that day.

But this is ’93,

A chance to make my play.

Beth, you are my own,

I love you night and dawn.

I cherish every day

As we continue on.

Today a promise new:

Another diamond we will buy.

That little one,

The years will hold it high.

But this new one,

Expanded version of the first,

Larger to grace your finger,

Brighter to bring you mirth!

You are my Love, my own.

I hold our years within my heart.

A sparkle on your hand,

Reminder that we’ll never part!
