Ginger

Tender her eyes–

her lashes long and fine,

gentle her glance–

and keep her mind.

Beg, sit and box–

the words she knows.

A quiet word,

and off she goes.

Ginger, her name–

Hair short and brown.

Soft is her skin,

ears quick to sound.

Our hearts she won.

Her winning ways command.

We took her in–

Our  home, her land.
