Tomorrow Seems Forever

Some claim that life has meaning

Through joyous faith in God,

They marvel at the sunrise

And ponder deep the sod,

They pray with faith and purpose

Singing the hymns with power

Never to doubt a moment

God’s presence in that hour.

But all is not so lovely

As some men struggle on

Anxious to find within them

An answer, and a song;

And many hearts are bleeding,

Waiting a far off day

When God will speak more clearly

And banish clouds away!

The road they walk is lonely,

The struggle, one of pain

When hope is often empty

And trust a lost refrain.

Tomorrow seems forever,

Today an empty room—

The beauty of the Kingdom

Clouded by fog and gloom.
